TERMS AND CONDITIONS

These terms and conditions apply to the Services provided by TA School of Art & Design and authorised staff (“the Studio” or “we” or “us”).

​Please read these terms and conditions carefully before registering your child(ren) for an art class and print off a copy for your records.

In registering your child(ren) for an art class, you agree to the terms of this agreement.

1. REGISTRATION

 

1.1 If your child is attending an art class at the Studio for the first time, we require you to fill out this new student registration form prior to your child's arrival. If there are any changes to your child's information, please promptly resubmit or email updated information to info@ta-art.co.uk.  

1.2 Class sizes are limited to 8.  Pre-registration is required for all classes.  No drop-ins, please.

1.3 If a class is full and you would like to be placed on a waitlist, please contact the Studio via email.

2. FEES & MISSED CLASSES (RESCHEDULING, & CANCELLATIONS)

2.1 We ask for a commitment of half a term with payment in advance.

2.2 Current fees include all materials; however, you might be asked to supply some additional materials that the studio does not provide, eg. oil paints, GCSE sketchbooks, portfolio holders etc. For a comprehensive list of what materials we provide, please email info@ta-art.co.uk

2.3 Fees must be paid in full upon registration and are non-refundable with the following exceptions:

2.3.1 If the Studio cancels a class, you will be given the option to make up the class at the next available alternative date/class. If there are no suitable dates/classes, we will either deduct the cancelled class from your next payment or refund you for the missed class.

 2.3.2 If you need to cancel a class, the Studio will again offer an alternative class within the half term your child is registered (if space allows), IMPORTANT: we do not refund missed classes due to students cancelling or missing lessons,

 

2.4 Missed classes cannot be carried over to the next term and should be made up in the half term that your child is registered in.

2.5 Please inform the studio if your child is unable to attend class.



3. PARKING, DROP-OFF & PICK-UP

 

3.1 The Studio is not responsible for monitoring who drops off and picks up your child.  It is your responsibility to ensure the safe and timely drop-off and pick-ups.

3.2 At this time, we do not have a seating area for parents.  We ask that you remain outside when dropping off your child at the start of the class and pick you up your child at the end of the class.

3.3 Please park in accordance with local authority rules and regulations. Do not park on pavements or in front of the driveways of neighbouring properties.

 

3.4 Children are asked to wait for pick-ups and drop-offs in front of the Studio property and not sit on neighbouring garden walls or fences.


4. FOOD & DRINK

 

4.1 We provide biscuits, squash and water to all children unless specified that they are not allowed such refreshments.


5. ALLERGIES & MEDICAL

 

5.1 We strive to be allergy conscious and to provide a safe environment for students; however, we do not guarantee a nut-free nor allergen-free Studio.

5.2 You are responsible for indicating any allergies or other medical conditions of your child on our New Student Registration Form.  If there are any changes to this information, please promptly contact us via email with the updated information.

5.3 We require all children who are prescribed an epi-pen, inhaler, or diabetic monitor to always carry it with them while on the Studio premises, no exceptions.  

5.4 You assume all risk as it pertains to your child’s allergies and medical issues.

5.5 You expressly grant to the Studio consent to seek emergency medical care for your child when the Studio is unable to contact you and when waiting for your consent would jeopardise the health and welfare of your child.

 

5.6 You give consent to the Studio to administer disinfectant and/or plasters when the Studio is unable to contact you and when waiting for your consent would jeopardise the health and welfare of your child. Should your child have any allergic reaction to either plasters or disinfectants, please indicate this on their registration form.

6. ILLNESS POLICY

 

6.1 You agree that you will not bring your child to  class if they are showing any signs of illness.  We reserve the right to restrict admission or send a child home, when, in our opinion, that child is ill or risks the health or well-being of other students. 


7. BEHAVIOUR

 

The following behaviours will not be tolerated:

 

7.1 Any student found to be disruptive may be dismissed from the art class with no refund at the Studio’s sole and absolute discretion.  We have a no-tolerance policy for disrespectful behaviour towards staff or fellow students.

 

7.2 Conduct that threatens the safety or security of the Studio community, or substantially disrupts the functions or operation of the Studio. We often use dangerous equipment like cutting knives, steel rulers and glue. Using any of these items to threaten or harm any other student(s), staff or visitors will not be tolerated.

 

7.3 Abusive behaviour, including the use of profanity directed toward staff, students or visitors will not be tolerated.

 

7.4 Theft of Studio property or assisting in storing or knowingly using stolen Studio property.

 

7.5 We do not tolerate harassment of any kind including, but not limited to, threats and sexual harassment.

 

7.6 Physical abuse of any person.

7.7 Physical damage or destruction of any Studio property by any student will not be tolerated. We do accept that accidents happen but should a student deliberately damage property, the cost of rectifying this damage will be the sole responsibility of the parents of student(s) involved.

7.8 Physical damage of any student's work or property. This includes breaking, drawing on, tearing or cutting another student's work.

7.9 Disruption of the educational process.

7.10 Refusal to follow instructions given by Studio staff.

 

8. CLOTHING

 

8.1 Making art can get super messy.  We do not provide smocks/aprons as they can get in the way of creating.  Children should wear old, comfy, art-friendly clothes which you do not mind them getting messy or permanently stained.  

9. PHONES

9.1 Students may wish to bring their phones to the Studio, however, we do not provide Wi-Fi for students as we cannot ensure their online safety on any devices that are not registered to us.

9.2 Should a student's phone distract them from completing their work, they will be asked to put their phones away or alternatively place it in the studio office for collection at the end of class.

9.3 Students are asked not to photograph or record any staff or students without their permission.

 

10. INDEMNITY CLAUSE

 

10.1 Neither the Studio, any of the art instructors, nor any of the assistants shall ever be held liable (jointly or severally) to you, your child(ren), or any of your respective estates or representatives, for personal injury or any incidental, indirect, or consequential damages of any kind, or any damages resulting from loss, whether or not advised of the possibility of damage, and on any theory of liability, arising out of or in connection with the Services.  Under no circumstance shall the total liability of the Studio, any of the art instructors, or any of the assistants for any damages or losses arising from the Services exceed the maximum amount of the price of the Services for which you paid.
